Let’s face it, we’ve all come home after a long day and just felt like letting loose by screaming or squeezing a stress ball. On those days, it’s hard to decide where to spend our energy. Should we focus on relaxing and doing something calming? Some of us feel better when we can do something distracting and others still need to do something physical like take a walk, run or workout. Another reason that both men and women may want to increase their lean mass content while decreasing fat is that muscle tissue actually burns fat away. It is estimated that for each additional pound of muscle tissue we have, we burn an extra 50 calories a day without lifting a finger. This is due to the fact that muscle tissue is more demanding on your body.
